:: SFA names Joseph Garner as the Head Football Coach. Mr. Garner is a native of Baltimore. He graduated from the Friends School of Baltimore and Morgan State University. He has been an assistant coach at Patterson High School, Baltimore Poly and most recently at McDaniel College. He is an adjunct professor of physical education at Coppin State University and will continue in that capacity while coaching the Panthers.

:: Single-mother of SFA senior donates $25,000 in honor of the memory of her oldest daughter who was killed in a 2007 car accident. SFA president Sr. John Francis met with Ms. Keisha Newland, the mother of a SFA senior Tionne Evans. Ms. Newland made an unexpected donation to St. Frances Academy in the memory of Tionne's older sister, Brielle Newland, who was killed in a 2007 car accident. Ms. Newland received insurance money as a result of her daughter's tragic death. She decided to support SFA because Tionne is having a very positive experience at St. Frances Academy. She never thought she could afford to send her daughter to a private school and wants help other families who are struggling to pay the $8,000 tuition fee. The amount Ms. Newland's donation is $25,000.
